Good Shepherd Choir is open to anyone who wants to sing God’s message! Music is selected by our choir director, Duarte Silva, who chooses a variety of traditional and contemporary styles for 3 part harmony. Currently the choir is made up of Sopranos, Altos and Baritone voices. Rehearsals are held at the church on Thursday evenings from 7pm to 8:30pm, September until May. The GSC Folk Gospel Group started about 10 years ago. A few members of the GSC Adult choir wanted to have an opportunity to sing folk, gospel, spirituals, and/or Christian music with guitar being the main instrument for accompanying the songs. The GSC Folk Gospel Group provides a different channel to sing ie. – words and music are taught by hearing one another and harmonizing by ear. Emphasis is on listening skills and staying “tuned in” to one another. GSC Folk Gospel Group meets on Thursday evenings, just after the GSC Adult Choir practice finishes (around 8:30pm). Join the GSC crew at the church each 4th Monday of the month to make sandwiches for the homeless at the Mustard Seed Ministry. All are welcome.
